ROUTE CALCULATING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a link or node of a road of a different kind that a driver does not intends from being selected by setting a freeway link or general road link as one or both end points of route calculation. CONSTITUTION:Data showing the current position of a vehicle detected by a vehicle position detection part 14 are supplied to a controller 16 in a navigation device main body. The controller 16 is the control center of this navigation device main body 1 and functions as a load means, a link recognizing means, and a route calculating means. Remote control keys 4 function as a road kind means which sets whether the vehicle starts at a freeway or general road as the start point of route calculation and a key input means which enables a recalculation request signal to manually be inputted by one touch by changing the kind of the starting road during the optimum route calculation by a route calculating means in addition to requests for the input of a destination and route calculation.
