Primycin prodn. - use as antibiotic agents

Process for the prepn. of the antibiotic primycin (I) by culture of a strain of Thermopolyspora galeriensis (II) in the presence of organic C and N sources, animal and vegetable oils, and mineral salts preferably at 27-8 deg. with aeration. (I) accumulates in the culture filtrates and is extracted. Morphological and growth characteristics of (II) are given. Antibiotic agents. Process for the microbiological prepn. of (I) by culture of (II) in a C and N contg. medium together with phosphates, nitrates, chlorides and palm nut oil and/or stearic acid at 27-40 deg. and pH 6-9.
