<p>General purpose, industrial cleansing/degresing agent comprises an aq. soln. of sodium tripolyphosphate or potassium tetrapyrophosphate (6%), sodium p-toluenesulphonate (3.6%), n-butoxyethanol (5%), a copolymer of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide or propylene glycol (1.4%), 2,2'-thio-bis-(4,6-dichlorophenol) or hexachlorophene (0.3%), sodium alkyl benzenesulphonate (3.2%), NaOH (0.3%) and water to 100%, where pref. concns. are in brackets. Components are added to stirred water at 40-60 degrees C in the order given above, filtered using filter aid to give a product, pH 12.5, stable to cold with no loss of properties. The concentrate is bactericidal and bacteriostatic to Gram +ve cocci at dilutions of 1/100 and to Gram -ve bacilli at dilutions of 1/10.</p> |
