This keyboard is of the type that comprises, as a replacement for each musical string, a series of keys (3) in lengthwise alignment, each key (3), which corresponds to a particular note, being designed to slide in and supporting one of the contact pieces of the cutoff switch connected to the sound synthesiser, and controlling the production of the note, while the other contact piece (5) is supported by a supporting plate (9) built into the hollow body (2a) on which this keyboard is mounted. Each lengthwise series of keys (3) replacing one musical string is covered by a string (11) made of a synthetic material and fixed to each key (3) at at least one point (3a) and to the plate (9) on which they are mounted, at each interval (9a) between two successive keys (3). <IMAGE>
