The handle of a fishing rod is somewhat lengthened and is provided with a hole. The hole in the handle part of the fishing rod is for the switch of the electric shock device, which is installed in the lengthened handle part. The handle part of the fishing rod is provided at the rear end with a screw closure cover whose cover is screwed on, the tubular electric shock device being inserted into the handle part of the fishing rod and projecting out of the hole in the same way as the switch of the electric shock device, the screw closure cover then being screwed onto the screw thread at the end of the fishing rod handle part again. The electric shock device is provided with a rubber casing, as in the case of a waterproof pocket torch. The terminal ends of the electric shock device are connected to the insulated copper cable and to the end of the fishing line, which is wound up on the fishing line drum. The current from the electric shock device flows through the insulated copper cable, through the wound-up fishing line on the fishing-line drum, to the fishing hook. The fishing line is provided in the centre with a fibre-glass thread which carries a small current, and the actual fishing line is used for insulation of the fibre-glass thread. A gas-cooker lighter can also be fitted in the handle end of the fishing rod as an electric shock device.
