The invention relates to a cutting disc for barking and hewing timber in order to provide round timber usable for instance in log cabins. The cutting disc, designed to be connected for instance to a motor saw, comprises a rotatable body, a trimming surface (5) which surrounds the axis of rotation (4) of the body and is applied onto the log, and cutting blades (7) protruding from the trimming surface and directed towards the outer edge (12) of the surface. According to the invention, the blade edges (9) of the cutting blades (7) form an angle (c) with the trimming surface (5) such that at the outer end (13) of each blade, facing the outer edge (12) of the trimming surface, the edge (9) will be located in the plane of the trimming surface (5) and will rise from there towards the opposite end (14) of the blade, facing the axis of rotation (4) of the log.
