Heat-insulating device and associated sealing element

The heat-insulating device exhibits panel-like mouldings which are joined together, joints (6, 7, 9) being formed in the process. Inserted into the joints is a sealing element (8) which exhibits a core consisting of highly disperse silicic acid and a hose which encloses the core and consists of glass fibres. The hose is provided with constrictions, with the result that the sealing element can be angled off in order to span joints which abut diagonally. <IMAGE>
