<p>A cap (10) for use in a filler neck (12) includes a closure (16) for closing the filler neck (12) and a handle (14) for rotating the closure (16) relative to the filler neck (12). Cap (10) also includes a delayed action device for providing a lost motion driving connection between handle (14) and closure (16). The delayed actuation device includes an annular torque transmission ring (18) engaged with closure (16) and a driven lug (78, 80) appended to annular torque transmission ring (18). The delayed actuation device also includes a drive pin (42, 44) integrally appended to handle (14) and arranged to engage driven lug (78, 80) during rotation of handle (14) about its axis of rotation (24).</p> |
