The keyboard is used for entry devices and is particularly suitable for entry devices for data processing systems. The keyboard has a plurality of keys which are arranged above one another and alongside one another. The keys are connected to one another, via coupling elements, in at least one spatial dimension. The coupling elements retain the keys at least in a first position with the keys essentially bordering on one another. In a second position, further retention is provided in which the keys have a greater distance from one another in the adjusting direction than in the first position. The keys are connected to a data bus via electrical conductors. In this case, the electrical conductors bridge different connection lengths as a function of the respective positioning. A plurality of keys are arranged transversely with respect to the adjusting direction on a common carrier, and at least two carriers connected alongside one another are connected to one another, via coupling elements, so that they can change their position.
