Apparatus for the reception of rolls (2), onto which yarn is wound in a conventional winding machine, and for equipping with these rolls conventional rotary mountings of the winding machine or intermediate stores, out of which they can then be loaded onto the mountings, the apparatus having a store for receiving these rolls. The store (1) has at least one compartment, in which the rolls (2) are arranged one above the other, devices (27, 28) being provided in order to make it possible for these rolls to be capable of moving along a plane which is perpendicular to a plane (B) on which the apparatus is erected, and a device (49) being provided in order to push the rolls (2) onto the mountings of the winding machine or onto the intermediate store (10). <IMAGE>
