Ceramic component containing a cermet electrode

A ceramic component, in particular a ceramic tube for a magnetically inductive measuring apparatus, contains, in a drilled hole (10), a cermet electrode (12) which has been inserted into the drilled hole (10) prior to sintering and has subsequently been sintered in during sintering. This ceramic component should be further configured such that, on the one hand, a reliable seal is ensured and, on the other hand, unacceptable overvoltages are avoided. As a solution, it is proposed that the cermet electrode (12), which is configured as a rod, has a convex shape and/or the drilled hole (10) has a convex shape with the smallest diameter in the centre. Furthermore, the cermet electrode (12) is inserted into the drilled hole (10) in the green ceramic and is sintered with the latter in such a way that plastic deformability of the materials in the electrode region gives a highly vacuum-tight but low-stress electrode joint.
