The invention relates to an electrically heated glass nozzle for the production of glass gobs and a supporting device therefor so they can work effectively in the formation of glass gobs. In this process and apparatus for the production of glass gobs, the glass, previously rendered flowable in a glass furnace, flows from a glass feeder, which can be made of refractory material and/or a platinum group metal, into the electrically heated glass nozzle, installed beneath the base of the feeder, the glass material being guided downward in the form of gobs into automatic processing machines.
