This drive device is improved according to the invention in that the laminated stator core (11) is of annular construction and is arranged in such a manner on a stationary component, which is used at the same time, for example, as a support for the washing tub, that active and inactive components of the DC motor (1) are arranged in the free space (15) which bounds the inner circumferential surface (13) of the laminated stator core (11) such that they can project entirely and/or at least partially into this free space (15).
