The invention relates to a construction kit for the production of railings, having vertical upright tubes (1) and a handrail, fastened at the top of the upright tubes (1) and made up of tube sections, and filling portions which are fastened between the upright tubes (1) and are arranged beneath the handrail. In order, using such a construction kit, to produce railings which manage with the smallest possible number of parts and can be adapted in a simple manner to the inclination of any staircase or flight of steps, the invention proposes that there be arranged, between the tube sections of the handrail, handrail connectors with plug-in connections for the tube sections which are to be connected, that handrail carriers (2) with plug-in connections for the tube sections of the handrail be arranged between the upright tubes (1) and the handrail in each case, and that filling-portion carriers with plug-in connections for the filling portions be arranged between the upright tubes and the filling portions, it being possible for the plug-in connections of the handrail connectors to be adjusted angularly in a stepless manner relative to one another and for the plug-in connections of the handrail carrier (2) and the plug-in connections of the filling-portion carriers (3) to be adjusted angularly in a stepless manner relative to the longitudinal axis of the upright tubes (1) and to be fixed in different angular positions. <IMAGE>
