An arrangement for withdrawing bottle closures from drinks bottles accommodated in bottle crates is intended to be improved to the extent that, whilst taking the greatest care of the neck region of the bottles, the lids remaining on the latter can be seized reliably. To this end it is proposed that a hold-down is designed as a pipe matched in terms of its diameter to the annular end face of the mouth region of the drinks bottles and is equipped with a spreading ring, that spring tongues having a sliding cam rest on circumferential sections of the spreading ring, said sliding cam spreading the spring tongues over the outer diameter of the bottle closures in the initial position of the pipe and of the spreading ring, that during relative lowering of the spring sleeve with respect to the pipe, after resting the same on a drinks bottle, the spreading ring releases the spring tongues to close, and that there is connected to the spring sleeve a central mandrel which can be placed on bottle closures and penetrates the latter.
