PURPOSE:To easily produce a transfer foil wherein the edges of a partial metal vapor deposition layer and a partial adhesive layer sharply coincide each other. CONSTITUTION:In a transfer foil wherein a base film 1, a release layer 2, a protective layer 3, a metal vapor deposition layer 5 and an adhesive layer 6 are successively formed, a printing layer 4 having a desired pattern is formed on the protective layer 3 using a water soluble resin and the metal vapor deposition layer 5 and the adhesive layer 6 with a thickness of 0.05-0.7mum are successively formed on the entire surface of the protective layer 3 through the printing layer 4. Thereafter, the structure thus obtained is washed to remove the printing layer 4 and the metal vapor deposition layer 5 and adhesive layer 6 on the printing layer 4. The metal vapor deposition layer 5 and the adhesive layer 6 at the part where the printing layer 4 is absent are left to integrally form the partial metal vapor deposition layer and the partial adhesive layer. In this transfer foil, the edges of the partial metal vapor deposition layer and the partial adhesive layer sharply coincide each other. |
