PURPOSE:To obtain a highly corrosion-resistant alumina sintered body suitable as a structural material for acid- and alkali-proof uses or water at high temperatures under high pressures. CONSTITUTION:This highly corrosion-resistant alumina sintered body is obtained by adding 50-500ppm MgO and 50-500ppm Cr2O3 as sintered assistants to an Al2O3 raw material of >=99.9% purity and burning the resultant raw material mixture. Thereby, the alumina sintered body excellent in corrosion resistance can be provided without deteriorating mechanical characteristics even under conditions of high-temperature acidic and alkaline solutions and hot aqueous solutions at high temperatures under high pressures. |
