Disclosed are: a method for reversing multidrug resistance in a mammal; and a composition to reverse multidrug resistance comprising: <IMAGE> wherein R1 and R2 are independently H, lower alkyl or lower acyl; R3, R4 and R5 are independently H or lower alkyl; R7, R8 and R9 are independently H, hydroxy, lower alkoxy or lower acyloxy; and R10, R11, R12 and R13 are independently H or lower alkyl, in a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle.
