<p>PURPOSE:To provide the novel derivative presenting high affinity for serotonin 1A receptors, useful as, e.g. a therapeutic agent for serotonin nervous system- related diseases such as an antianxiety agent, antidepressant, hypotensive agent or antiemetic agent. CONSTITUTION:The novel 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran derivative of formula I [R1 is H or lower alkyl; n is an integer of 2-6; A is CO or SO2; R2 is H, halogen, (substituted) lower alkyl, lower alkoxyl, OH, nitro or cyano; * denotes asymmetric carbon atom] or a salt thereof {e.g. 2-(N-(4-benzoylaminobutyl)) aminomethyl-2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]furan, etc.}. The compound of the formula I can be obtained by reaction of a compound of formula II (R11 is protective group for amino group or lower alkyl) with a compound of formula III (X is eliminable group). This novel compound presents high affinity for serotonin 1A receptors, therefore being used as, e.g. a therapeutic agent for serotonin nervous system-related diseases.</p> |
