PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of ink passages and to make high density printing possible with dislocations among dots prevented by a method wherein relation between the number of openings for nozzles and the number of reservoirs is specified and the reservoirs are connected to ink supply ports with the passages that are separated from one another. CONSTITUTION:The ink jet recording head is equipped with a pressure generating element that generates pressures in accordance with printing signals, a nozzle plate 1 equipped with a plurality of nozzle opening lines 3-8, lined-up pressure generating chambers communicating with the nozzle opening lines 3-8, and a spacer 10 separating reservoirs from passages that supply ink from ink supply ports arranged on lines symmetrical to the nozzle opening lines. In the case where the number of nozzle opening lines is set as 2M (M is an integer of 1 and above), the number (N) of the reservoirs is set as N=M+1. The reservoirs are connected to the ink supply ports with the passages that are separated from one another with partition walls extending from the ink supply ports. |
