PURPOSE: To reduce preparation period and cycle time by composing a jaw assembly of a master jaw, and at least one top jaw detachably mounted on the master jaw, and couping both each other through a specific mounting button. CONSTITUTION: A jaw assembly 10 provided on a chuck 12 includes a master jaw 20 having plural stepped openings 26 having a mounting seat at a front part to be parallel to a rotation axial line, and a screw groove is formed in each opening 26 to be extended from the mounting seat backward. On this master jaw 20, a moutning button 32 in which a stem 37 is fitted into the mounting seat can be assembled, and in the mounting button, a hole 40 compatible with the screw groove in the opening 26 is provided through. A top jaw 42 is installed on a front sruface of the master jaw 20, the top jaw 42 has plural holes in which headed conical bodies of the mounting buttons 32 are fitted in on the back surface side, and it is fastened to the master jaw 20 by plural bolts 56. |
