PURPOSE:To facilitate the putting-in/out of a driver's feet at the time of getting on/off a vehicle so as to heighten getting-on/off performance. CONSTITUTION:The tip part of a lower column tube 6 is provided with a supporting frame 7, and the lower end part of an upper column tube 5 is provided with a turning frame 8. The turning frame 8 and the supporting frame 7 are rotatably connected to each other by a bolt 9. An upper main shaft and a lower main shaft are also connected to each other rotatably on the axis of the bolt 9 by a flexible joint. Steering wheel turning mechanism 4 is thus formed, and a steering wheel 3 is turnable in the opposite direction to a getting- on/off opening. The upper face part of the turning frame 8 is provided with lock mechanism 20 formed of a locking arm 14, a locking piece, and the like so as to impede the turning of the steering wheel 3 during travel. |
