<p>PURPOSE:To provide an operating-hour meter for engines, which is capable of exactly measuring actual operating time of an engine, and being used even in a hand-starting type magneto-ignition engine. CONSTITUTION:A measuring unit 3 of a hour meter 2 of a magneto-ignition engine 1 is composed of a pulse generating unit 5 for generating a fixed period of pulse train, a calculating unit 6 for counting the pulse numbers P, and a calculating unit 7 for converting the pulse numbers P into the time T. A memory storage unit 8 is provided in the hour meter 2, and the hour meter 2 is structured to be able to operate by generated power of a magnet 9 of the engine 1. The calculating unit 7 allows the memory storage unit 8 to store the operating time for each operation measured by the measuring unit 3, and integrates cumulative operating time Tt by adding the stored, previous operating time T1 to the new operating time Tn to be stored. The cumulative-operating time Tt is adapted to be displayed on a display unit 4.</p> |
