PURPOSE:To prevent clogging with toner and to keep a constant image density by providing an electrifying brush on an outfall for replenishing toner and rotating a toner replenishing roller backward. CONSTITUTION:A toner replenishing signal is issued and a toner stirring screw 1 and a carrying screw 2 are rotated to feed the toner 16 in a toner hopper 17 to the toner replenishing roller 3. In this roller 3, a negative (-) voltage is applied to sponge-like conductive resin, so that the toner is positively electrified. The positively charged toner 16 is brought into contact with the toner replenishing roller 3 and carried to an electrifying brush roller rotated backward. Then, the electrifying brush is negatively (-) electrified and the positively (+) charged toner is moved on the electrifying brush roller by triboelectrification. Further, the toner is brought into contact with the electrifying brush roller 16 and fed to a carrying roller 9 rotated forward, to be scraped off by the projecting part 11 of a scraping part 10. |
