PURPOSE:To improve a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet in surface smoothness and temperature stability by a method wherein a dye-accepting layer is provided on one surface of a substrate sheet, and the substrate sheet is a laminated structure of a plurality of layers of a specific composition from the dye- accepting layer side. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer image-receiving sheet 1 is formed by laminating a dye-accepting layer 3 on one surface of a substrate sheet 2. The substrate sheet 2 is provided with a foamed polyolefin layer 21, a unfoamed polyolefin layer 24, and a core layer 25 made of paper from the side facing the dye- accepting layer 3. On the rear surface of the core layer 25, a laminate formed by successively laminating a unfoamed polyolefin layer 26 and a foamed polyolefin layer 29 is provided as an anticurling l,ayer. On the substrate sheet 2, the dye-accepting layer 3 is formed directly or through an intermediate layer. The dye-accepting layer 3 for receiving a sublimable dye migrating from a thermal transfer sheet and holding the formed image normally contains a thermoplastic resin as a main component. |
