PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material hard to generate the discoloration of the background thereof due to heat and improved in the yellowing properties of the background by using a dispersion prepared by dispersing an aromatic isocyanate compd. in an aq. soln. containing polyvinyl alcohol whose saponification value is specific percent or more. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic isocyanate compd. is dispersed in an aq. soln. containing polyvinyl alcohol with a saponification value of 81% or more to prepare a thermal agent dispersion. In this case, the polymerization degree of polyvinyl alcohol is pref. 600 or more. This thermal agent dispersion, a dispersion of an imino compd. reacting with the aromatic isocyanate compd. to form a color and a binder are applied to a support and dried to form a thermal recording layer to obtain a thermal recording material. As a concrete example of the aromatic isocyanate compd., there is 2,6-dichlorophenylisocyanate or p-chlorophenylisocyanate and, as a concrete example of the imino compd., 3- iminoisoindolin-1-one is designated. |
