Single-piece profile section designed to make the connection between two floor coverings, of the threshold strip type. The invention consists of a method for fastening a profile section to the ground using basic products required for laying floor covering, that is to say adhesive or making-good layer of screed. It is composed of a sole which is striated on its underside (1), and designed to be embedded in the making-good screed or the adhesive, positioned in the door casing, of a central body (2) and of two cap-shaped flanges (3-4-5) serving to cover the floor coverings of different heights, set into the cavities (6-7) on either side of the central body. This profile section finds its application in building and renovation work. <IMAGE>
