摘要 PURPOSE:To surely recognize an object vehicle independently of the drive state of the vehicle by calculating a view angle by an image pickup device based on vehicle velocity information outputted from a vehicle velocity sensor and controlling the drive of a zoom lens based on the view angle. CONSTITUTION:A zoom control section 15 calculates a view angle of an image pickup device 12 based on a vehicle velocity information outputted from a vehicle velocity sensor 16 and controls the drive of a zoom lens 13 based on the calculated view angle. That is, the zoom control section 15 stores a view angle by the image pickup device 12 for a predetermined vehicle velocity in advance as a reference view angle and controls the zoom lens 13 so that the view angle is taken narrower than the reference view angle when the vehicle velocity represented by velocity information outputted from the vehicle velocity sensor 16 is faster than the vehicle velocity of the reference view angle and the view angle is taken wider when slower. Thus, an object vehicle (e.g. preceeding vehicle) is surely recognized independently of the drive state of the vehicle.
