PURPOSE:To improve the noise performance, and to improve the reliability by stopping the starting pulse when non-lighting condition or non-installation condition of a lamp is detected, and furthermore, inputting the electrical signal for reset to generate the starting pulse. CONSTITUTION:A pulse stop means 1c includes a timer circuit, and the pulse stop means 1c is connected to lamp wires 4a, 4b, and when the stop means 1c detects the voltage under the non-connection condition or non-lighting condition of a lamp between the lamp wires 4a, 4b, the stop means 1c outputs the signal for stopping a high voltage pulse generating means 1b after a certain time is passed. When the electrical signal is inputted from a signal generating means 2a to a reset circuit 1d, in the case where a potential difference does not exist between pulse detecting lines 6a, 6b, the reset circuit 1d recognizes the installation of a lamp. Then, the reset circuit 1d outputs the reset signal to the pulse stop means 1c for reset, and the high voltage pulse is generated from the pulse generating device 1b to start and light the lamp 3. Since any mechanical contact is not provided, reliability is improved, and since a power source line is not led to a lamp holding part, necessity for connecting a thick wire to a lamp holder 2 is eliminated. |
