摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent blackening due to mercury oxide and heighten the ultraviolet ray maintenance rate by uniformly applying an oxygen absorbing material to all inner surface of a light emitting tube except the stem parts. CONSTITUTION:An ultraviolet lamp 10 has a bulb (light emitting tube) 11 made of crystal glass which is formed as bent in a channel shape, and at the ends of the bulb 11, a pair of electrodes 12, 12 are installed sealedly with respective stems 13, 13, and mercury and rare gas are encapsulated in the bulb 11. An oxygen absorbing material 14 consisting of Zr or Al is applied uniformly to all area of the bulb inner surface excluding the stem parts. This permits the material 14 to adsorb the oxygen of the mercury oxide produced in the light emitting tube, so that the lamp 10 is precluded from blackening, and a high UD maintenance rate can be held.
