The idling fuel flow in a carburetter is prevented from being increased above a permissible value by fitting a cap 10 of deformable material on the idling adjusting needle 24, the cap being non- rotatable relative to the needle and having a vane 12 which contacts a portion 46 of the carburetter body to prevent needle rotation in a fuel increasing direction. The cap 10 is preferably formed of a polyamide which having been softened slightly by soaking in water, is pressed on the grooved head 30 of the needle 24, four projections 16, 18 on the inner surface of the cap engaging the inner face of the head and ramps (14, Fig.1, not shown), engaging the grooves in the head to prevent relative rotation. The cap 10 may be formed of phenolic, polyuerthane, polyacrylate or synthetic rubber material. |
