PURPOSE:To enable the maintenance of a master file from any place and to reduce the stop of business at the time of a fault by providing each of POS terminals, a storage controller and a host computer with a master file and a maintenance means mutually connecting the master files and the maintenance means. CONSTITUTION:Plural registers in a shop are respectively provided with POS terminal 1 having master files M and respective master files M are connected to a master file M in the storage controller 6 through communication lines 7. The master file M of the controller 6 is also connected to a master file M in the host computer 5 through a communication line 7. When the maintenance of the master file M in the host computer 5 is executed by an input device 2, the parts of the same contents in the other master files M are simultaneously maintained. Thereby sales business such as the reading of a bar code from a commodity, an input from a keyboard and the display of a price on a PLU or the like can be continued in respective POS terminals 1 other than a register generating a fault. |
