PURPOSE:To convert only limited KANJI (Chinese character) into HIRAGANA (cursive form of Japanese syllabary) and to easily perform document creation which is more natural and practical for a user by specifying KANJI which is not used by the user in advance before a read character string is inputted and converted from KANA (Japanese syllabary) to KANJI. CONSTITUTION:A RAM 12 of an electronic control unit 5 is provided with an area 12a where a created document is stored, a work area 12b used for the KANA-KANJI conversion, a KANJI limitation specification flag 12c for holding the specification state of used KANJI limitations, etc. When the user presses a KANJI limitation specification key on a keyboard 2, a KANJI limitation specification screen appears on a display 3. To limit KANJI used in the created document, the user instructs that the KANJI to be used is one learnt up to, for example, the 4th grade of elementary school education or KANJI in common use. The result of the specification is stored in the KANJI limitation specification flag 12c in the RAM 12. Consequently, the KANJI which is practically used can be limited according to the user. |
