摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the polarizing film which enables high-quality screen display with a reflection type liquid crystal display device by preventing double projection of the screen display, the virtual image of a light source, etc. CONSTITUTION:The main parts of the polarizing film 1 are composed of a uniaxially stretched film 13 adsorbed with iodine, protective films 12, 14 laminated on the front and rear thereof, a phase difference film 16 laminated via an adhesive layer 15 on the rear surface side thereof, an adhesive layer 17 applied on the phase difference film and adhered to the observer side electrode plate of the liquid crystal display device and a light scattering layer 11 laminated on the protective film 12 side. The light scattering layer 11 is formed by applying a resin (refractive index 1.5) dispersed with MgF2 (average grain size 0.2mum and refractive index 1.3). The external light entering from the light source is scattered by the light scattering layer 11 of the polarizing film 1 disposed on the observer side electrode plate and is made incident on the liquid crystal material. Since the light is scattered even at the time of emission of the rays reflected by a reflection material, etc., the virtual image, etc., are prevented.
