PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of the processing efficiency of a computer system by service interruption and to raise the reliability of the system by transmitting a command of to extend the feeding time of power supply to the computer system, when the condition of interruption of power supply to the computer system is reported. CONSTITUTION:If service interruption occurs in a power supply source to which the power line 11 of an uninterruptive power device 3 is connected, a CPU 5 transmits a read command to the uninterruptive power device 3. When the command is transmitted, the capacity of the battery for supplying power to a computer system at the time of power interruption is detected, and the capacity of the battery and a reference value of a feeding time of the battery to the computer system are compared. After the comparison, the detected capacity of the battery is set in a status and transmitted, and a backup time for supplying power from the battery to the computer system is set in a timer. Consequently, it becomes possible to recognize the battery capacity, and to extend the feeding time by the battery. |
