PURPOSE:To switch data with other office machines by increasing the precision of part-of-speech estimation even for equivalents to a highly technical word and a new word that general dictionaries do not contain. CONSTITUTION:The digital copying machine 41 is equipped with a reading device 42 for a recording medium and when dictionary contents are updated, the dictionary is replaced through the recording medium. A desired dictionary is selected by operating an operation keyboard 43 while looking at an operation screen (a list of usable dictionaries is displayed on an image read surface 45.), and parts of speech of respective words of the original text are determined based on the probability of the succession of the parts of speech of the original text which are inputted to and stored on the recording medium; and equivalents corresponding to the original text which are determined according to priority is retrieved in the electronic dictionary according to the determined part of speech, and displayed and printed in the format of the original text, and contents after linguistic processing are made secondarily usable. |
