The invention relates to a method for excavation by successive cuts, using a cutting tool, in particular for producing a vault or a preliminary vault by filling cuts with sprayed concrete. Each cut is made by longitudinal penetration of the cutting tool, followed by extraction of this tool, so as to produce non-contiguous cuts (S1 to S7) separated by terrain intervals having a width less than the width of the action zone of the cutting tool, these cuts are filled with sprayed concrete, complementary cuts (S2 to S6) are subsequently made in the said intervals by trimming the surface of the concrete in the cuts already filled, and the complementary cuts are filled with concrete.
