PURPOSE:To eliminate strange feeling from a driver at the time of speed change by controlling the deceleration of an armature under a state approximate to the deceleration of an internal-combustion engine thereby realizing a clutch meet feeling after speed change approximate to that of the internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A decision is made that speed change operation is performed during travel if the vehicle speed is non-zero, an accelerator switch SWA is turned ON (an accelerator pedal is not yet stepped down), and a clutch switch SWC is turned ON (a clutch 4 is disconnected). An armature rotation signal NM is then read out from an r.p.m. sensor 7 and an actual deceleration alphaM of an armature 2 per a predetermined time is calculated based on the signal NM. The actual deceleration alphaM of the armature 2 is then compared with the deceleration 5 of crankshaft at the time of idling of a gasoline engine. If alphaM<alpha, an exciting current is fed to the electromagnet 5c of an electromagnetic brake 5 thus turning the electromagnet 5 ON. If alphaMI>=alpha, exciting current supply is interrupted. |
