摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the sacrifice of the degree of spatial freedom in constituting a device by arranging parts so that a direction linking between 1st projecting element and position photodetecting element may be almost orthogonally crossed with a direction linking between 2nd projecting element and position photodetectlng element, and also to obtain a range finder at a low cost by preventing the increase of the size of a light receiving element. CONSTITUTION:Range-finding light projected from a fixed IRED 1 is projected to a range finding point 7 through a projecting lens 2, and the reflected range- finding light is made incident on a PSD 5 through a light receiving lens 4. In addition to this, scannable range-finding light from an IRED 8 is projected to a range finding point 10 through a projecting lens 9. The IRED 8 and the projecting lens 9 are arranged in a direction orthogonally crossed with a direction linking between the light projecting and receiving lenses 2 and 4.
