PURPOSE: To provide a superconducting magnet that is constituted in C shape so that no obstacle exists between magnetic pole pieces, namely an open gap is formed. CONSTITUTION: A C-shaped superconducting magnet contains a superconducting coil means 6, a ferromagnetic magnetic core means 50 that is connected to the coil means in terms of operation, and first and second magnetic pole pieces 100 that are connected to the magnetic core means 50 in terms of operation. In this case, the first and second magnetic pole pieces 100 are arranged while they are separated by a specific interval so that a gap may be formed between them and in a relationship where they are essentially not parallel. |
