The present invention relates to a hydraulic engine-speed varying assembly for a motor vehicle. The assembly is characterised in that the cylinders (2) of the heat engine (1) of the vehicle and the cylinders (12) of the hydraulic pump (11) thereof are incorporated into one and the same cylinder block (17) and a transmission means (5) transmitting the energy supplied by the pistons (3) of the heat engine to the pistons (12) of the pump (11) is contained in the same casing (18a, 18b), common to the engine (1) and to the hydraulic pump (11).
