PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution, to reduce the cost and to facilitate the maintenance by forming an electrostatic pattern on a transfer medium with a recording means, supplying toner to the electrostatic pattern with a developing means, and heating, melting and directly thermally transferring the toner with a thermal transfer means. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic pattern is formed by a recording head 22 being the recording means on a heat resistant and high insulating sheet 21 being the transfer medium. The toner is supplied to a latent image by the formed electrostatic pattern from a developing device 23 so as to develop the image. The toner is produced by dispersing pigment powder in thermoplastic resin. The toner adhering to the sheet 21 by electrostatic force is heated by a heating means 25 and thermally transferred on recording paper 24. Since a photoreceptor need not be used, the cost is reduced and the maintenance is facilitated. And, since the medium 21 is an endless belt, it is circularly carried and repetitively used. |
