The invention relates to a coupling (K) for the connection or for the separating device for lines or for the releasable line connection, in particular, of pressurised medium-channelling lines (1, 2), having a first coupling part (I) and a second coupling part (II), a closed medium-flow path being provided in the coupled state, and furthermore radial line sections of a coupling connection line and of a coupling part having mouth cross-sections which can be made to coincide, and it being possible for a coupling closure in each coupling part (I, II) to be opened during the coupling operation, and it being possible for the mouth cross-sections of both the coupling connection line and of the radial line section of the coupling part to be closed by a sliding movement, which sliding movement simultaneously brings about the valve closure of the first and second coupling parts (I, II). In order to achieve a more functionally reliable type of construction which does not impair the pressure state of the medium, the invention proposes that a closure part (V) which fulfils the slide function form a line section (11) of the medium-flow path, and that, during the sliding movement, the line section (11) can be isolated, with the inclusion of the medium located therein. This leaves the flow path in a homogenous state.
