A plastic housing for protecting a photographic film cassette comprises a housing body having a closed bottom and a lid matched on an open top side of the housing body. The housing body has in its connection region to the lid such a horizontal circumference that it consists of at least four circular arcs, connected to each other in a row, of which at least two circular arcs differ from each other in terms of radius.
