Until now, morse printers have operated using a writing device which had to be wetted with liquid ink or via an ink felt roller. The printing was frequently not clean, and the maintenance was time-consuming and cumbersome. The use of a felt printer, a standard plotter pen, results in clean printing, replacement is easy and different colours can be used. The printing strip is deflected forwards from the rear side of the printer in a space-saving manner and is guided through between the armature plate and the core of the magnet, via a knurled roller and rubber contact-pressure roller to the outside. The electrical drive is optionally supplied from a set of batteries in the equipment or from the mains. A plurality of paper speeds can be selected. The paper strip can be used deflected a plurality of times, in particular for training purposes, because the printing pen - which can be set off-centre - allows the paper strip to be printed on repeatedly. The use of printing pens of different colours is possible in order to distinguish between a plurality of users easily. The paper spool can be pivoted for transportation or can be folded up. The morse printer is excellently suitable for documentation and for training purposes.
