A duct (7, 8) for the aboveground transportation of a liquid, e.g. for irrigating or sprinkling of crop is provided with a light reflecting outer side (10) as well as a barrier (11) which is essentially impenetrable for light and which lies inwards with respect to said outer side. Thereby, the shadow effect of the duct is compensated and the temperature of duct and liquid are kept low. Moreover, due to the absence of light in the interior of the duct, no algal growth will occur.
