Test specimen for determining the mechanical properties of a polymer material, comprising a sample, with rotational symmetry, which is clamped with vertical axis (5) in the intermediate space of two mutually parallel retention surfaces (2) of retention plates (3), the sample (1) being bounded in the radial direction by a circumferential surface (4), with rotational symmetry, which has concave profile and terminates at the retention surfaces. <IMAGE>
