In a foldable packaging container (10) having a bottom plate (18) and, extending therefrom, side and front walls (19, 20) of a base tray (12) of a web of material, in particular a sheet of card, the side and front walls are folded up at an angle (t) to the bottom plate to form a frame, enclosing said bottom plate, of a receiving compartment for packaging contents, the side walls being provided with bent tabs (30) which project therefrom and, in the position of use of a lid (14) fitted onto the base tray, are pressed against said lid from the inside. The lid (14) has inwardly protruding lid tabs (42) which, in the position of use, are hooked onto the bent tabs (30) of the base tray (12), engaging behind the latter. <IMAGE>
