A method for eliminating organic compounds, particularly bad smelling compounds in gases such as industrial waste gases, involves absorption of the compounds in a solvent followed by oxydation of the absorbed compounds and separation of the oxidation products from the solvent. The solvent is a liquid organic compound containing units of general formula (I) where R1, R2 designate an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon radical, and n is a number from 1 to 30. The organic compounds are eliminated by oxidation in the solvent phase of the compounds, with separation of the resulting products. The solvent is then returned to the absorption stage.
|
