A recording-tape reel conventionally comprises a hub which is arranged between two substantially flat flange parts. The hub may be connected in one piece to one of the two flange parts. The other flange part (30) has both on its outer side and on its inner side (34) elevations (62) which protrude from the respective side and have a convex outer face, that is to say a convex, preferably flat arching. By this type of elevations, flange parts, lying one on top of the other, are kept at a distance from one another, so that an air cushion forms between them. This makes it possible in turn for such flange parts to be fed as bulk material onto a shaking or vibrating conveyor, in order for the flange parts (30) to be sent by this conveyor to an automatic processing line while they are at the same time individually separated. <IMAGE>
